UTA’s adaptive sports programs will host 2024 UTA Wheelchair Basketball Fall Classic

Cheer on the Movin’ Mavs and Lady Movin’ Mavs as they kickoff their 2024-25 seasons with the UTA Wheelchair Basketball Fall Classic tournament at College Park Center on Oct. 25 and 26.

UT Arlington’s wheelchair basketball teams will host the University of Arizona men’s and women's teams, the University of Illinois men's and women's teams, the University of Alabama women's team and the UT Dallas men’s team.

The mission of UTA’s adaptive sports program is to provide sport and recreation programs, including competitive athletic opportunities, for students with disabilities. Together, the Movin’ Mavs and the Lady Movin’ Mavs have a history of producing 36 Paralympians, including seven alumni and one current Lady Movin’ Mav, Élodie Tessier, who just competed in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

The tournament schedule is as follows:

Movin’ Mavs

  • Friday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. vs. Illinois
  • Friday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. vs. Arizona
  • Friday, Oct. 25, at 4 p.m. vs. Illinois
  • Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. vs. Arizona
  • Saturday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. vs. UT Dallas

Lady Movin’ Mavs

  • Friday, Oct. 25, at 12 p.m. vs. Arizona
  • Friday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m. vs Alabama
  • Saturday, Oct. 26, at 9 a.m. vs. Illinois
  • Saturday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. vs Alabama
