- Nov 67:30 PMOn the TownThe UTA Deparmtnet of Theatre Arts and Dance presents On the Town. The music is by Leonard Bernstein and the book and lyrics are by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. It is based on an Idea by Jerome Robbins.On the Town is a classic musical that follows the adventures of three American sailors on a 24-hour shore leave in New York City during World War II, leading to a whirlwind of romance, comedy, and dance as they explore the city’s iconic landmarks. Based on an idea by Jerome Robbins, the production examines the interplay between expectation and reality. The show's depiction of the fleeting nature of youth and love, together with music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, makes for a heartwarming theatrical experience.First produced on Broadway in 1944 and on film in 1949, this musical has enjoyed a number of revivals since its original debut. Directed by J. Austin Eyer, music directed by Vicky Nooe, co-choreographed by Sarah Fagan, and designed by UTA Faculty and Staff, On the Town is a fully produced mainstage musical, featuring a cast of talented Theatre Arts and Dance students.On The Town is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC. www.concordtheatricals.com

This concert promises to be a captivating experience, showcasing the timeless beauty and artistry of string instruments.The performance will be held in Irons Recital Hall, FA105, located in the South Section of the Fine Arts Building.The doors will open approximately 30 minutes before the performance time.Be aware that no food or drink, aside from bottled water, is allowed in the recital hall.Parking is available in the West Campus Garage, and ADA parking is available at the meters on Nedderman Drive in front of Texas Hall. Enjoy refreshments, an easy-going atmosphere, and brief remarks by UTA Provost, Dr. Tamara L. Brown. This event is a perfect chance for folks from all parts of the University to take time to get to know their colleagues and build lasting connections.Unique to the Homecoming entries in this event series is the inclusion of UTA spirit-themed activities, such as songs and chants.
