- Sep 2110:00 AMAdaptive Sports ExpoAdaptive sports organizations will present and give demonstrations at the 8th annual Adaptive Sports Expo, to raise awareness for sports and activities available to individuals with impairments and disabilities in the region. Learn about and see a variety of adaptive sports in action, including adaptive sled hockey, wheelchair lacrosse, amputee soccer, wheelchair fencing, wheelchair dance, table tennis, wheelchair tennis, para pickleball, wheelchair pickleball, wheelchair basketball, blind soccer, track and field, and adaptive rock climbing. This event is open to all who are interested in adaptive sports.UTA's Lady Movin' Mavs and Movin' Mavs will showcase their wheelchair basketball teams by participating in scrimmages at Court Four, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. and from 1-2 p.m., respectively.Paralympians, including Mavericks who participated in the recent Paris Paralympics, will engage in a panel discussion at the Maverick Activities Center Auditorium, from noon to 1 p.m. Following their remarks, featured speakers will be available to answer attendees' questions.This free event is organized by the UT Southwestern DFW Adaptive Sports Coalition, the University of Texas at Arlington, the UT Southwestern Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute, and many important community partners.
