UT Arlington Lose Series Finale Against Seattle U

SEATTLE – The UT Arlington Maverick baseball team fell to the Seattle U Redhawks in a 10-4 loss in the final road game of the regular season this Sunday, at Bannerwood Park.
 
GAME FLOW
The Redhawks struck first in the bottom of the 1st inning with a 2-run homerun to take an early 2-0 lead. The Mavs were able to answer back in the top of the 2nd inning after Caylon Dygert brought home Ryan Black, who was hit by a pitch, with an RBI double to left field.
 
The Mavs tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the 3rd inning after Tyson Pointer recorded an RBI on a groundout that plated Tate Bethel. The Redhawks jumped back out to a two run lead after a homerun in the bottom of the 4th inning.
 
In the bottom of the 5th, the Redhawks scored 3 runs to jump out to a 7-2 lead. Jackson Hill cut the Mavs deficit to 4 in the top of the 6th inning after scoring Garrison Berkley, who reached base with his first triple of the season, on an RBI single through the infield.
 
The Redhawks plated 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th after a slew of Maverick errors to take a 10-3 lead. Tyson Pointer cut the Redhawk lead to 6 after a solo homerun to center field, his 8th of the season. The score remained 10-4 until the final out.
 
 
PITCHING PROFILE
 
Caden Noah, a native of Longview, Texas, was tabbed as the starter for Sunday's matchup. The Redshirt Junior pitched for 3.2 innings and picked up a strikeout and allowed 3 hits in the 16 batters he faced.
 
Coming in for relief, Nicholas Robb pitched for 2.1 innings and picked up 2 strikeouts and allowed 3 hits in his appearance. 
 
Joe Steeber pitched for 2.0 innings and recorded 2 strikeouts and allowed no earned runs in his relief appearance.
 
ON DECK
The Mavs return home to face the Tarleton Texans for the final conference clash of the season from May 16-18 at Clay Gould Ballpark.
