Corona Earns NFCA All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UT Arlington softball's Camille Corona has earned a spot on the NFCA All-Pacific Region list, announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Saturday.

"I'm extremely proud of the hard work CC has put in to earn this award," shared Dill. "She set a high standard for herself and was steadfast in her effort to live up to it. We are very grateful for the example she set every day within our program."

The third baseman was selected to the 3rd Team and has played a vital role in head coach Kara Dill's lineup since transferring from the University of Texas in 2023. The fifth year capped the 2024 season with a team-high .401 batting average, 67 hits, 31 runs scored, a .463 on-base percentage and nine stolen bases. Corona finished with 19 multi-hit efforts including notable performances against then No. 14 Arkansas (Feb. 23) and No. 1 Oklahoma (Mar. 20).

Not only did the versatile player impact the Mavericks' offense, but on the field as well. The Austin native held her own at the hot corner, ending with a fielding percentage of .981. Across 56 games played, Corona committed just three errors making over 55 putouts and eight double plays.

In conference play alone, Corona ranked high in the WAC in multiple statistical batting categories which included batting average (4th, .443), on-base percentage (T-4th, .500) and hits (5th, 35).

A total of 376 student-athletes from 160 programs have received 2024 NFCA Division I All-Region accolades.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes (eight maximum) and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2024 NFCA Division I All-America squads.
