2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships On Tap For Van Klaveren And Gray
EUGENE, Ore. – UT Arlington's Randon Gray and Lucas Van Klaveren will compete at the highest of levels at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.
Gray takes the stage on Wednesday, June 8, with the men's pole vault at 5 p.m., while Van Klavern begins his combined events on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
Randon Gray has dominated the pole vault this season picking up multiple PR's in the event. Last week at the NCAA West Regional Qualifiers, Gray was in a jump off for over 4 and a half hours and was able to clear 5.32m in his first attempt, which advanced him to Eugene, Oregon.
Van Klaveren has dominated through the season as the 9th ranked decathlete in the entire NCAA. His 7785 points acquired at the 2024 Bryan Clay Invitational was enough to win the combined events at the highly-touted meet. His current all-time personal record is 8015 points.
The Mavericks will be looking for its fourth individual national champions, and beyond, in UTA track and field program history, joining:
