Manikandesh Named WGCA All-American Scholar

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – UT Arlington's Nitisha Manikandesh was named to the 2023-24 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars List announced on Tuesday.

The criteria for selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team are among some of the most stringent in all collegiate athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 needed to be included on the team. In addition, members must have competed in at least 50 percent of the rounds completed by the team in 2023-24.

Manikandesh recorded notable performances near the end of the spring season with back-to-back top-10 finishes. The sophomore concluded the regular season at the ORU Spring Invitational (Apr. 8-9) with a 10th-place finish after turning in rounds of 70-74-78. Nearly two weeks later, the Plano native put up a 6th-place finish at the WAC Championship in Payson, Arizona (Apr. 19-21), guiding UTA to an overall 6th-place team finish. Across 10 events played in the 2023-24 season, Manikandesh maintained a 77.7 scoring average.
