Mavericks Top 9-0 With Another Victory
SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI - The UT Arlington volleyball team defeated the Weber State Wildcats in back-and-forth 3-2 victory (22-25) (25-20) (25-21) (20-25) (15-13) in the squad's final match of the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational this Saturday. The win marks the squads' ninth-consecutive win to start the season.
In the match, the Mavericks put together multiple season highs in kills (75), assists (72), digs (79) and were two blocks (11) away from matching the season high.
Brianna Ford produced 26 kills in the win, a new career high for a match, and 14 digs for her third double-double of the season. Sjakkie Donkers also recorded a career high in kills with 20 and picked up a career-high 11 digs for her first career double-double. Mollie Blank picked up her second double-double of the season with a career-high 61 assists, and a season-high 17 digs in the win.
Paige Reagor picked up a season-high 16 kills in the win to go along with five total blocks. Ava Burroughs, making her first start of the season, had a team-high 6 total blocks and four kills in the match.
Samantha Glenn and Cansu Günaydin each had a season-high 15 digs in the victory over the Wildcats.

"An absolute battle," said head coach J.T. Wenger. "Both teams performed at such a high level from start to finish and it proved to be a great test for us. We played great defense which set up our offense to perform well, and we took advantage of stellar distribution to finish the tournament with a strong win."
NEXT UP
The Mavericks head back to Tarrant County for the Horned Frog Invitational from Tuesday, Sep. 17-21. The Mavs will take on the host #25 TCU on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth.
