Mavs Drop Game Two Of The Horned Frog Invitational

FORT WORTH - The UT Arlington volleyball team fell to the Rice Owls 3-1 (24-26, 19-25, 25-22, 21-25) in the second match of the Horned Frog Invitational this Friday at the Schollmaier Arena. 

In the match, Brianna Ford put up a monster 20-20 game with 21 kills and 20 digs in the loss.
 
Cansu Günaydin recorded her first double-double of the season in the loss with 13 digs and a season-high 11 kills in the match. 
 
Mollie Blank also had a double-double in the loss with 42 assists and 10 digs, and contributed a season-high four total blocks in the match.
 
THOUGHTS FROM COACH
"This was a hard fought match that could have gone either way," said head coach J.T. Wenger. "We handled ourselves with composure, but couldn't produce quite enough to get us over that line. Very proud of this team and the grit they showed. I'm looking forward to seeing how we learn from this match and bounce back."
 
NEXT UP
The Mavericks conclude the Horned Frog Invitational tomorrow at 1 p.m. against the Denver Pioneers.
