The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation presents "1800 Miles: The Light the Trail Story"

Wednesday, September 18, 2024 1:00–2:30 PM
  • Location
    UTA Planetarium
  • Description
September is National Suicide Awareness Month, and UTA Social Work has invited The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation to screen its documentary, 1800 Miles: The Light the Trail Story, in the UTA Planetarium. The screening will be followed by a discussion panel and is free for all UTA students, faculty and staff.

Starting in October of 2022, a group of individuals rode their bikes 1800 miles across the United States of America. They rode to light the trail for those suffering in the darkness. They rode for family and friends. They rode for the many who struggle in quiet and alone, unaware of those ready and willing to provide a listening ear. 1800 Miles: The Light the Trail Story is a powerful documentary following their journey. It tells the emotional story behind the ride and draws attention to those suffering in silence, as well as how each of us and our communities can be ready to help. The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation is thrilled to share that this documentary will be showing across the country, premiering at Tribfest in Austin on September 22, 2023. It will continue to show in film festivals, private gatherings and appreciation events throughout the country, including Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, Chicago, Memphis, St. Louis, and more."
