UTA Libraries Special Collections is proud to present Theoria Eclipsium: Curiosity, Captivation, Connection, an exhibition featuring over 500 years of Eclipse History!The exhibition features maps, rare books, and photographs from Special Collections and shows that regardless of time period or scientific knowledge, eclipses bring us together! This exhibition was produced in collaboration with students in Dr. Kim Breuer's Medieval Science and Technology class.Opening on Tuesday, March 26, the exhibit will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays 9 a.m.-5 p.m., inside UTA Libraries Special Collections, on the sixth floor of Central Library.Eclipse glasses and other giveaway items will be available for viewers of the exhibit, while supplies last.

The summer in Texas can often be described as an endurance test. It is hot, humid, and though there are those who are brave enough to battle the rising temperatures during their daily adventures, the heat often keeps many inside. Unfortunately, this causes them to miss out on the spectacular seasonal views that are found all across the state’s many eco-regions, from the Blackland Prairies to the South Texas Plains.This exhibition contains a series of landscapes from the UTA Fine Art Collections that bring the beauty of a Texas vista to our viewers from the comfort of our air-conditioned gallery. In addition to these works, a selection of Texas native flora and fauna will be included to enhance the experience.Visit the exhibition throughout the summer semester, Monday, June 10 – Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024. The closing reception will be Thursday, Aug. 29, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.The UTA Fine Art Collections Gallery, housed within the Visual Resource Collections, Ste. 2109, Fine Arts Building. The second floor will be open for limited hours during the summer, Monday through Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.Walk-ins are welcome, and group visits are available via scheduled appointments. This 45-minute class is a full-body workout that will have you feeling strong and powerful. There will be various stations that you will move through which will target different muscles of your body and build strength and cardiovascular endurance. The class is limited to 10 participants. 

Calling all dragon riders, knights, and rangers: It’s time to get fit! Dumbbells and Dragons combines martial arts, yoga, Pilates and more for a full body workout to help you take on the world.

This mind and body class utilizes yoga movements to improve your flexibility, posture, strength, and balance. This will bring attention and focus to your breath while continuously flowing from one posture to the next.
