Dustin Harp, Associate Professor of Communication, and Jaclyn Kirsch, Assistant Professor of Social Work, will present their research as part of the R.U.G. (Resilience, Unity, Guide) Project. Dr. Harp and Dr. Kirsch will discuss their experience working on the RUG Project. Through interviews with Afghan women refugees, we can learn about the shared experiences, memories and trauma of individuals and communities. Attendees can also learn how to take those women’s words, honor their lives and participation, while analyzing, writing, and producing academic research.

- Sep 251:30 PMProfessional Skills Academy — Career and Self-DevelopmentThe Professional Skills Academy (PSA) is a chance for you to meet in a small group with a staff member to learn more about the career competencies expected by today's employers, such as career and self-development, communication, critical thinking, leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and technology. There are seven total sessions. Each session will start with a presentation from the staff member, and there will be small group activities and a debrief. If you attend all seven sessions, you will receive a PSA Certificate at the end of the program.Space is limited to the first 30 students.
