The summer in Texas can often be described as an endurance test. It is hot, humid, and though there are those who are brave enough to battle the rising temperatures during their daily adventures, the heat often keeps many inside. Unfortunately, this causes them to miss out on the spectacular seasonal views that are found all across the state’s many eco-regions, from the Blackland Prairies to the South Texas Plains.This exhibition contains a series of landscapes from the UTA Fine Art Collections that bring the beauty of a Texas vista to our viewers from the comfort of our air-conditioned gallery. In addition to these works, a selection of Texas native flora and fauna will be included to enhance the experience.Visit the exhibition throughout the summer semester, Monday, June 10 – Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024. The closing reception will be Thursday, Aug. 29, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.The UTA Fine Art Collections Gallery, housed within the Visual Resource Collections, Ste. 2109, Fine Arts Building. The second floor will be open for limited hours during the summer, Monday through Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.Walk-ins are welcome, and group visits are available via scheduled appointments. The Pilates Method is a full-body conditioning program that develops deep abdominal and back strength, together with increased flexibility and ease of movement.  This class is aimed at “core stability,” designed to work on lengthening muscles to help tone and strengthen muscles, using breathing to enhance relaxation.  

This mind and body class utilizes yoga movements to improve your flexibility, posture, strength, and balance. It will bring attention and focus to your breath while continuous flowing from one posture to the next.  

This 45-minute class is a full body workout that will have you feeling strong and powerful. There will be various stations that you will move through which will target different muscles of your body, build strength and cardiovascular endurance. The class is limited to 10 participants.
