Nov 20, 2024: Food for Thought: Healthy Eating for the Holidays.

As the holiday season approaches, so do the increase in parties, banquets, and holiday dinners. We all love the taste of all the delicious treats and foods that comes with the holidays, however we do not like what it does to our waistline. Come to this month's Food for Thought to learn tips and tricks to help you keep you on track with your diet and lifestyle. Stacie Ellis is the Registered Dietitian at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she provides nutrition consultations and education for the students and staff on campus. Dr. Ellis is the proud owner of EXCELLIS Nutrition, a company geared towards performance nutrition, weight management, disordered eating, and medical nutrition therapy. Stacie serves as a consulting dietitian for Wellness Concepts, Health Fairs Direct, and American Health Assessments. She recently received her Doctoral degree in Nutrition with a minor in Kinesiology at Texas Woman's University. Her dissertation involved comparing a high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet to a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet on performance in dancers. She has been interviewed with Women’s Health Magazine, The Oak Cliff Documentary, and Texas Metro News, and she also completed the Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management Program on June 4-6, 2015 View on site | Email this event
